onward and upward

I remember when we first brought home our youngest from Haiti. He was almost 3 and walked very "gingerly". He didn't know how to run. I don't blame the orphanage, they took good care of him. I'm sure it was the pain from sickle cell disease that kept him from walking, and running with the other kids.

But after some time with good medication, healing, lots of prayer, and LOTS of ROOM to run, he started with a small gallop. With practice,  he was soon running. Once he had that room to run he took off!

When you give a child room, he learns to run!

That had me thinking recently, how we limit ourselves from really running with the gifts and talents God gave us. We allow pain and hardships to keep us planted in bitter soil. Branches begin to sprout that are distorted and sick. And we never really grow,  never running, because our roots are anchored in pain.

I have prayed for all my children, to direct them, guild them, show them that they CAN RUN... and not only run, but FLY above all the world has given them. Above abandonment, pain, suffering, loneliness, and no future. The world gave them no reason to be born... BUT... God is the reason they

Live!

Show them their wings Lord, Teach them to

FLY!

When you give a child room,
he learns to run;
When you give him wings,
He will Fly!

And every good parent wants their children to reach their highest potential.

But have we, as their teachers, found our own wings?
Are we Flying the way God had intended us to?

Have we risen above abandonment, pain, suffering,
loneliness, and no future?

Teach us all Lord to soar above adversity and injustice. To soar above selfishness and the desire to pity oneself. To soar with confidence...

Confidence in Christ

Knowing life has a purpose and a meaning, Our Life. When we let go of those old limbs, those old branches, those old lies and ideas; and allow God to cut them away... then we truly will soar. We can never go back to them because they are no longer there. Gone!

The only place to go is Onward and Upward

Toward the very place God created for us.

Onward and Upward

When given room, I learn to run
When given wings, fly to the Son

Take what is broke, make it whole
Release the pain within this soul

Cutting limbs where there's no peace
Distorted ideas now release

I see GLORY in Your Name
My Spirit Flight to where You Reign

Onward and Upward

Treasure

Learning to be faithful in a hard place becomes a huge treasure chest full of wisdom that can be drawn from throughout life... if you choose to.

Some of my Favorites

Fall is my favorite season.... and spending time with some of my favorite people make it even more wonderful <3
My kids, my grandkids, and fall... PERFECT!

This moment is unique.

And the future unknown.

But one thing I know for sure... God put together this family. Each day on this journey is a new reason to
wake up
 and say,
"good morning Jesus, thank you for choosing me."

Lord I pray that our lives will be fruitful and full of Your fragrance.
Ambassadors of Jesus Christ.
Give us a burden for the lost and the homeless and the orphan.

"From everyone who has been given much,
much will be required;
and to whom they entrusted much,
of him
they will ask all the more."
Luke 12:48

Testing my new phone App

This phone app may be the revival to blogging once again!
Recently we went to Longwood Gardens. Soooo beautiful, and a good day with family! I realized that day just how much we all have grown in the past 12 months.  Feeling Blessed...

Working On It

Find my Simply Goat Soap on Facebook and "like"!

I am finally trying to figure out this soap thing! Doodle Man went into the hospital for 2 1/2 weeks with a SS crisis... was in the PICU for most of that time. He was one sick little boy. We are always "off" as a family for at least a month whenever he is admitted... but this time "off" lingered even longer. To look at him now you would never know he was  sick. He's an amazing little boy,,, And we give God all the Glory for healing him!

Then I finally I had to begin our homeschooling year... late again. lol! But what's late? I have no real beginning or end to grade levels ... just a year long journey.  It's going well and I'm really seeing how these boys learn, finally. It's going to be a great year, I'm excited.

This soap endeavor goes hand in hand with our family ministry. Let me quickly explain...

All the proceeds for our first batch of soap is going toward orphan ministry. We are praying to possibly host an orphan to come stay with us for 5 weeks next summer. Also praying for the possibility to adopt one last time. If we don't start adoption paperwork before the end of this year we most likely never will. (notice how theres no absolute ha!) Regardless, this soap money will go toward hosting, adoption, or other orphan ministry. The possibility of any three excites me :)

Commit your way to the Lord , Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday.
